AMMAM is a collection of defibered, ecological and socially responsible fabrics

Updated: Aug 16, 2023

Giving a new life to textile waste that would end up in landfills, Ammam bases are, in addition to being a more socially and environmentally sustainable option, fabrics that impress with their comfort and sewability. The bases are woven with defibered yarn supplied by Eurofios, responsible for preventing further than 12 thousand tons/year of textile waste are sent to landfills per year and for employing more than 100 people in a precarious employment situation.

In addition to contributing to environmental sustainability (see other actions from the company here), the production of AMMAM fabrics also has a positive impact on saving water and dyes, and on the generation of effluents. Each meter of dark fabric, for example, avoids the use of 30 to 50 liters of water (depending on the weight and density of the fabric) in the dyeing process and, consequently, stops generating 28 to 46 liters of effluents. The benefits also extend to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions: each meter of Ammam fabric stops releasing 7 to 12Kg of CO2 into the atmosphere.

AMMAM is a fabric rethought, regenerated and recycled to bring a positive impact to the environment, society and fashion.

Like Ammam, another RenauxView initiative to expand the offer of products with more sustainable environmental credentials is a collection of bases woven with hemp yarn. The sustainability differentials of this fiber can be better known in the post Fashion Hemp.

You can also contribute to making fashion more circular and use AMMAM fabrics and Fashion Hemp bases in your creations.
